About the authority's system, about Albatriq, and about what you need to start.
Albatriq works entirely to the eReceipt specification published by the Egyptian Tax Authority (version 1.2) and files receipts directly with the authority's own interfaces. Registration as an issuer is done in your company's name through the authority's portal; Albatriq is the technical intermediary that builds, signs and files the documents.
Yes. The authority requires every receipt to be signed with an electronic seal (eSeal) issued by an accredited provider such as Egypt Trust or MCDR. The private key can never leave the token, which is why we provide "Albatriq Signer" — it is installed on your machine, signs locally, and sends only the signature to the platform.
The receipt is stored on our side before any attempt to file it, so the sale is never lost and you can print it for the customer. The platform then keeps re-sending until it lands, in the same position in that till's chain. If the shop's own internet is down the web till will not open at all, because it is served from our servers — offline selling is available through the mobile app, which stores the sale on the device and syncs it when the connection returns.
Yes. The Business and Enterprise plans include a full REST API for issuing documents and querying their status, so your current system stays the source of the data and Albatriq handles only the tax side.
Creating the account is instant and the trial starts straight away. Going live needs only your POS device credentials from the authority's portal and the signing application installed — usually less than one working day.
The system does not allow a filed and accepted receipt to be deleted. The correct route is to issue a return receipt linked to the original, and Albatriq sets the reference automatically.
They are two separate systems at the authority, each with its own rules. The electronic receipt (B2C) covers sales to an end consumer from a till and is reported after issue. The electronic invoice (B2B) covers sales to a registered company, carries the buyer's name and tax registration number, and is not a valid tax document until the authority clears it. Albatriq covers both from the same account.
Yes. The invoicing credentials (Client ID and Client Secret) are issued to your company through the authority's portal and are not the same as the POS device credentials used for receipts. You enter them once on the company settings page; they belong to the company as a whole rather than to one device.
Not when it is sent. An invoice passes through two states: "filed", meaning the authority has received it, and then "cleared" once the authority accepts it. It is only a valid tax document in the second state. Albatriq follows the clearance automatically and shows it on the invoice and in the invoice report.
A document the authority holds cannot be edited or deleted. The correction is a credit note or a debit note — a document of its own that references the original invoice by its electronic number. Albatriq links the note to the invoice automatically, and will not let you raise one for more than a line has left.
Yes, but only inside the window the authority allows, and with a reason recorded. The request goes to the authority and the buyer may decline it, so the invoice stands unchanged until the verdict arrives. Outside the window the correction is a credit note rather than a cancellation.
Yes, it is signed with the same electronic seal (eSeal) used for receipts, to the same CAdES-BES standard. The technical difference is that a receipt signature covers the whole batch while each invoice is signed on its own — Albatriq handles that with nothing extra for you to do.
Yes. The plan's monthly document allowance covers receipts and invoices together, because both are documents filed with the authority. The meter on the subscription page shows the combined figure.
The Business and Enterprise plans. The Starter plan is aimed at a shop selling to end consumers that needs receipts only. You can upgrade at any time and switch invoicing on from the settings page once your credentials are entered.
